British Riding Clubs
Ride together. Train together. Compete together. Have fun together.
British Riding Clubs (BRC) provides support and encouragement via our national club system to riders of all levels. Whether you are a leisure rider or enjoy competing with your horse, there is something for everyone.
British Riding Clubs aim to provide training, competition and most importantly fun and support in a team environment. By joining an affiliated club, or affiliating your existing club to the BHS, you can take full advantage of the opportunities to ride, compete, train and have fun together at club, area and national competitions.
Area 17
We are part of BRC Area 17 which covers Hampshire, Dorset, the Isle of Wight and South Wiltshire. There are 23 Areas in total, grouping Riding Clubs who have affiliated to the British Horse Society from all across the United Kingdom. This grouping allows us, as an affiliated Club, to compete in Area Qualifiers for the chance to qualify for the various BRC National Championships.
BRC host multiple National Championships per year with qualifiers held in each area. Championships are split between a summer and winter season, ranging from intro dressage all the way up to advanced medium and 70cm show jumping up to 110cm.
As a member, you will not only have the chance to represent the Club at BRC Area Qualifiers and Championship events, you will also receive BRC third party insurance cover while taking part in affiliated BRC organised activities as well as Rider Magazine: A quarterly instalment of news, information and articles exclusively for BRC members.
Area Qualifiers and BRC Championships
BRC host 7 national championships per year, split between a summer and winter season, ranging from intro dressage all the way up to advanced medium and 70cm show jumping up to 110cm. Members can enter Area Qualifiers through the NFPEC; a pre-entry must be made first. Pre-entries must be entered 21 days before the competition - late entries may be accepted at the discretion of the organiser. Following this, an entry needs to be made to the area.
